In August, we met at Trevor Rees-Jones Scout Camp, where Mikanakawa Lodge trained the section on the new induction experience. The weekend was full of service, learning, and fellowship.

We started the event Friday night as Arrowmen from across the section arrived at TRJ. They met with their crews and began getting to know their crew members. After some time to get settled, everyone came together for cracker barrel, where many friendships began to form. The night then continued with the opening ceremony, followed by lights out.
Saturday morning began with crew reflections at their campsites, followed by a delicious breakfast. Throughout the morning and afternoon, the crews worked hard on service projects and continued their reflections. The projects included conservation work along the lake’s shoreline, work on the camp entrance gate, and many other projects that benefited the camp.

Once the projects were complete, the groups reconvened in the dining hall, where they rested and had dinner. Afterward, the groups completed their final reflections, leading into the closing ceremony.
Once the ceremony was over, there was more time for fellowship in the dining hall. There were board games, a movie, and plenty of time for everyone to relax and enjoy the evening together.
Sunday morning brought our final training session. During this session, the lodges were taught about the behind-the-scenes work that went into putting on the weekend. This gave them the information and resources they needed to bring the new induction experience back to their home lodges and put it on themselves.
Overall, it was an amazing weekend, and Mikanakawa Lodge did an incredible job hosting the event. Every lodge left with a better understanding of the new induction process and was excited to return home and teach their lodges how to put it on. The weekend was a great opportunity to serve, learn, and build fellowship across the section.
